Traditional Rulers Dedicated To Atoning

For Their

Role In The Trans-Atlantic Slave Genocide

The Traditional Rulers of Benin Republic, certain areas in Yorubaland, along with the traditional Tribal Chiefs have prepared for many years for the return of the children of the Motherland sold/stolen into the trans-atlantic slave genocide. We are deeply committed to atoning for our role in the genocide of millions of our beloveds. To that end, we are dedicated to building a bridge between the Diaspora and the Motherland to reconcile and welcome home the lost children of Mother Africa. We will do this by "any means necessary" and promise to work hard to right what has for so long been so very wrong. Plans are on-going for other ways we can do the right thing by the descendants of millions of our family members. >>>More

International Law Obligations to Provide Reparations for Human Rights Abuses

  1. World history contains countless records of atrocities committed by humans against humans. Examples this century include the holocaust of World War II, repression and torture under Pinochet's Chile, Argentina's 'dirty war', the forced removal of Aboriginal children from their families in Australia and widespread and systematic persecution under the South African apartheid regime. The nations responsible have by various processes and procedures sought to respond to these human rights abuses in order to move on from their pasts. This article examines in detail the responses made by Australia and South Africa to human rights abuses emanating from the removal policies and apartheid policies respectively.

  2. The response by the Australian government involved a National Inquiry, while the South African government established a Truth and Reconciliation Commission. These mechanisms operated within the international law of reparations framework for victims of human rights abuses. In accordance with this law, reparation includes all types of redress - restitution, compensation, rehabilitation and, satisfaction and guarantees of non-repetition and consists of material and non-material redress. the world very proud.

He said most Africans wept when Ghana fell into
military dictatorship and economic hardships because:
"Ghana is the mother of African liberation and her
depression and failures are bound to have effect on
true Africans." >>more

1924 - 1978

Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe, founding president of the Pan Africanist Congress, was born in Graaff-Reinet in 1924. His Xhosa first name, 'Mangaliso' means 'man of wonders'. As a student, lay preacher and teacher of the 1940s and 1950s, Sobukwe was an outspoken opponent of apartheid. He lost his student bursaries for speaking out against missionaries and white liberals, who, he said, had sown division among the African people. He also lost his first teaching job because he refused to teach the official apartheid history. >>more

Why Indigenous Status?

The Human Restorative Process

The Eastern Slave Trade

ARAB-led slavery of Africans is important because it affects directly contemporary Afro-Arab relations and is complicated by the fact that both Africans and Arabs frequently treat it as an issue to be hushed-up because of the embarrassing reaction it generates. It is a historical reality which differentiates the fate and the aspirations of Africans on the one hand, and Arabs on the other, in their different attempts to achieve Arab unity and African unity respectively. Both these objectives, if pursued democratically, would assist in the emancipation and development of the two peoples. more >>
